ICED EARTH's JON SCHAFFER: No New Music Until Spring/Summer 2003
April 5, 2002ICED EARTH guitarist Jon Schaffer has completed work on the music for four songs for the next DEMONS & WIZARDS album—Schaffer's hugely-acclaimed collaboration with BLIND GUARDIAN vocalist Hansi Kursch—but has yet to share the material with Kursch, who is presently busy promoting the recently-released BLIND GUARDIAN CD A Night At The Opera, according to a transcript of a recent online chat with Schaffer.
In related news, negotiations are continuing with as-yet-undisclosed labels following the recent expiration of the group's contract with Century Media Records and could last for another six months before a new deal is inked. ICED EARTH's next studio effort is not expected before spring or summer of 2003. Meanwhile, “any DVD future plans will be scheduled around 2005 due to legalities,” according to Schaffer.
